DESCRIPTION OF THE CONCERT:
The concert performed by COETUS is a real musical power and emotion of 17 people on stage, essentially playing through percussion and voice. COETUS music reflects the great treasure chest of tradition, forgotten over centuries: songs of celebration, work, prowl, crib... and interprets the spirit of union and creativity making a lively current show, which shows us that today the popular and anonymous creation has left us. Coetus leads us to the roots by transmitting a joy full of life and strength...
INFORMATION ABOUT THE ARTISTS:
Coetus is the first Iberian Percussion Orchestra. It stems from the concern of the director Aleix Tobias to gather together percussion instruments found in the Iberian Peninsula. The vast majority are unknown instruments. The collection, endow their own language, inspired by traditional rhythms, but with a modern look, creating an intense dialogue with the voices.
Coetus is a latin word that means union, reunion... this is prehaps the word that best defines the essence and ambition of this group. Combining the diverse richness of the music of Iberian Peninsula, combining tradition, an alliance as ancient as it is modern. Combining art to life, to everyday music... the songs of celebration, work, prowl, lullabies are a proof of that reunion.
Coetus is also a large family of musicians, where each person brings his peculiarity and his knowledge, all being essential parts.
